  • Fischer Block named to Cyber Security Industry Advisory Board
    Recently, the Department of Energy's center on Secure Electric Energy Delivery Systems (SEEDS) created a joint team from industry and academia to research and develop innovative cybersecurity technologies, tools and methodologies to strengthen the grid's ability to survive cyber attacks. Fischer Block's role is providing both insight and a platform to support the development of cyber security threat reduction algorithms.

  • Installation at DTE Energy
    Fischer Block installs SMART devices onto existing assets at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, creating an advanced digital data source from analog equipment. The microgrid at the Navy Yard is managed by DTE Energy, and is being built as a global center of excellence for microgrids. Alstom, Penn State University, and the Department of Energy are teaming up to make this center, the first of its kind, the premiere platform to help advance the development of new grid technologies.

  • Fischer Block connects to Big Data
    In November, 2015, Fischer Block successfully demonstrated connectivity with IBM's cloud-based data-analytics platform - Bluemix. This achievment provides the basis for Fischer Block to provide grid operators and engineers with real-time information and critical alerts pertaining to asset performance, fault anticipation, outage restoration, wide area situational awareness, and much more.
